"Frank? Where are you, honey?" Gerard's honey-sweet voice echoed through the mid-sized home he shared with his husband. A husband he was have a difficult time tracking down at that moment. "Frank, seriously! Where did you go?" Gerard called, feeling stumped as to where to look.
Suddenly, an idea struck him and he quickly walked to their pull-down staircase. He tugged on the cord and swiftly climbed the stairway into the messy room. A small smile hit his lips when he saw where his husband was.
Frank sat with a photo album in his inked fingers, blissfully passing through memories as each picture brought them back. A serene smile played on Frank's lips as he giggled softly at a picture of Gerard when he played Peter Pan as a kid. And then the first tattoo he ever got. Then Gerard giving him a piggy-back ride home when he broke his ankle at the local park when they were teenagers. So many pictures filled that simple book and it filled Frank with a warm, familiar feeling, just like when he played guitar for the first time. It was also the same feeling as the first time he and Gerard kissed.
Gerard chuckled as he walked to his husband. "Frankie, I've been calling you for twenty minutes, babe." He said, walking forward and hugging Frank from behind, glancing down at the pictures he was looking at. Gerard blushed madly when he realized it was a picture of him when he was a young boy, playing in the bathtub, covered in suds and water.
"Sorry..." Frank whispered, flicking through the pages of memories. When Frank reached the last page he felt a happy tear fill his eye as he looked at a picture of him and Gerard kissing on their wedding day. Frank had worn a white tux and black tie, while Gerard wore a black tux and white tie.
Gerard also saw this and smiled placidly, leaning in and kissing Frank's cheek softly.
"I love you." Gerard sang and Frank giggled, turning and capturing Gerard's lips in a proper kiss.
"I love you too." He whispered. They stared into each other's eyes endlessly, simply finding comfort in each other's presence.
A chirping ringing interrupted their moment and Gerard chuckled, kissing Frank one more time before hurrying down the ladder and toward their phone. Gerard's thin, artistic fingers gripped the device and pressed the answer button as he pulled it to his ear.
"Y'ello? Iero-Way residence, Gerard speaking."
"Gerard, honey!" Gerard's mother chimed at him and he smiled brightly.
"Hey, Mama! How are you?"
"Surviving." She joked and he smiled. "I was actually calling to ask if you and Frank were available to babysit Mikey for the day? I have work and your father already left, and our babysitter quit on us this morning and I have no where else to turn--"
"Mom, mom, calm down! Frank and I would love to babysit Mikes." Gerard said, slowly making his way back to the attic.
"Really?! Oh thank you so much, son! I'll drop Mikey off in about fifteen minutes. You're a lifesaver, honey!" She chimed and Gerard chuckled, leaning on the wall by the pull-down ladder for the attic.
"It's really no problem, Ma. We'll see you soon. Love you."
"Love you too, son! Bye!" She called and hung up, Gerard chuckled to himself and walked up the stairs to the attic.
"Who was it?" Frank asked, pulling out love notes passed between the two during school and in class.
"My mom. We're babysitting Mikey for the day."
"Mikey's coming?!" Frank asked in excitement as he looked up quickly. Gerard chuckled and nodded.
"Yeah, their babysitter quit on them, so we're getting Mikey." Frank squealed loudly and wiggled in his sitting position. Frank had always been fond of Gerard's younger brother, ever since the boy was born--which was only 5 years previously--. Frank had even liked Mikey so much that he asked if the boy would be their ring bearer at their wedding, because he had been two by the time that happened. Gerard had agreed and a very wobbly Mikey gave them their rings.
Frank stood up quickly and began bouncing slightly in impatience.
"When are they getting here?" He asked quickly and Gerard chuckled, shaking his head a little and placing his hands on Frank's shoulders to stop him from moving.
"In about ten minutes, calm down babe, you see Mikes all the time."
"Gerard, it's been two weeks since we saw him! That's like forever for a five-year-old!" Gerard rolled his eyes to this and chuckled.
"Right, whatever." Gerard said, leaning in and kissing Frank's lips softly. "Come on, let's go into the living room and wait for Mikey." He said and Frank nodded, a grin stretching his cheeks extremely.

When Donna Way and Mikey finally arrived, Frank was the first to rip the door open and jump over to hug Mikey tightly. The small boy giggled and trilled in excitement as Frank lifted him and twirled him around. Gerard talked to his mother for a few moments before she had to leave for work and left the couple with her very young son.
Frank set Mikey on the couch and immediately began to tickle him relentlessly. Mikey squealed and collapsed on the couch in a fit of giggles. Gerard smirked and snuck up behind the two and gripped Frank by his arms and pulled him up so he was away from Mikey.
"Quick Mikes! Get him! Get Frankie!" Gerard called and Mikey smiled brightly and launched himself at Frank tickling him as well. Frank giggled loudly and wiggled about in his husband's grasp and brother-in-law's tickling fingers.
"Uncle! Uncle!" Frank cried and Mikey and Gerard slowly stopped their attack and Gerard laid Frank in his lap, kissing his lips softly. Frank kissed back and placed a hand on Gerard's cheek to keep him there. Suddenly Mikey yelped and slapped his hands over his eyes.
"EWWW! Das so gross!" He cried and Frank and Gerard chuckled. Frank gripped Mikey and pulled him onto his lap, while still sitting in Gerard's. Mikey smiled at the two, his front tooth missing and making him look absolutely, ridiculously adorable. Frank leaned in and kissed Mikey's forehead and Gerard smiled down at the two.
"Hey! Let's go to the park, huh?" He asked and Frank and Mikey looked at each other before nodded and grinning at Gerard.
"LES GOOOOOO!" Mikey screamed, jumping up and charging forward toward the door. Frank chuckled and chased after the boy. Gerard followed quickly behind them and saw them racing to the playground around the corner. Gerard turned and locked the door behind him and began a brisk walk forward. "NOO!! FRANKIE NO!! YOU GOTTA LET ME WIN!" Mikey shouted pitifully and Gerard chuckled as he began to jog there, knowing that Frank would keep Mikey safe.
When he got there, he smiled when he saw Frank running after Mikey on the play-structure in the center of the park. Gerard smiled as he sat on a park bench and watched the two play together. Frank was always so natural with children, always knowing exactly how to deal with them and make them smile or stop crying. It was like he was made for childcare.
Gerard smiled to himself as he thought more about Frank. The aforementioned man soon walked over to Gerard and sat beside him, snuggling into his side. Gerard smiled and kissed Frank's head, wrapping an arm around his shoulders.
"He found a friend, so I decided to leave them alone." Frank said and Gerard nodded with a smile. Mikey was always making random friends.
Frank and Gerard watched Mikey play around for hours, smiling when he finally walked over to them. He placing his small hands on Frank's knees and looked up at him.
"Daddy, come play!" Mikey said and Frank tilted his head, a warm feeling in his heart. Gerard smiled softly, ruffling Mikey's hair.
"Mikey, that's not Daddy, that's Frankie, you know Frankie!" Gerard said and Mikey nodded again, shrugging a little.
"Well...he'd be a good Daddy, Gee." Mikey said as he crossed his arms and strutted away from his brothers. Frank giggled and snuggled closer to Gerard, nuzzling his nose into his husband's neck.
"Hey, Gee?" Frank whispered and Gerard looked at him questioningly.
"Yeah, babe?" Gerard asked gently, kissing Frank's forehead softly. Frank smiled and looked up to his husband.
"Maybe we should adopt? I'd like a kid running around..." Frank whispered and Gerard gaped at him.
"Really? You...you want a kid?"
"Yeah." Frank smiled and Gerard leaned forward, gently caressing Frank's lips with his own.
"Alright...we'll start finding an agency right away!" Gerard said and Frank giggled, smiling. The two linked their fingers together as they watched Mikey play with one of his best friends, Robert Bryar, who had come to the park later on. Mikey and Bob played tag and then hide-and-seek and some pretend games when they finally ran over to Gerard and Frank. Mikey smiled to them.
"Hey Gee! Hey Frankie!" Mikey said, Bob said a similar greeting as they grinned up to the elder couple.
"What is it, Mikes?" Gerard asked with a smile on his face.
"Bob and I...we was wondering if we could sleepover at your guyses house tonight!" Mikey said and Gerard chuckled, sitting back as Frank snuggled up to him.
"I dunno Mikey, you'd have to ask Mom and Bob would have to ask his Mom."
"Okay! We will! Bob go ask your Mom, gimme a phone, Gee!" Mikey said as Bob sprinted off to his mother. Gerard chuckled and stared at Mikey with his arms crossed.
"What's the magic word?" Mikey sighed and rolled his eyes.
"Please." He huffed and Gerard chuckled, nodding and handing his brother his cell phone. Mikey quickly went through the speed-dials and soon saw his mother's work number. He pressed the green call button and held the device up to his ear.
His mother answered on the third ring and sounded worried.
"Gerard? Sweetie is something wrong with Mikey?" She asked in worry and Mikey giggled.
"It is Mikey, Momma!" Mikey squealed and his mother made a confused noise. "I called to ask if Bob and I could stay at Frankie and Gee's house tonight!" Mikey said and his mother chuckled.
"Oh...alright, just as long as it's okay with your brother."
"It is! He said as long as it was okay with you! And it is!" Mikey chimed and his mother chuckled at this. "Kay, call you later, momma, love you!" Mikey said as he hung up the phone. Gerard laughed as he was handed back the phone. e laced it in his pocket just as Bob came running up with a woman trailing behind him. She smiled to Gerard and Frank and watched as Mikey and Bob ran off to play a bit more.
"So...I guess they're staying at your house tonight?" She asked and Frank and Gerard laughed.
"I guess. It's alright, they're always welcome." Frank said and Bob's mother laughed.
"Well, don't tell that to them or they'll never leave." She joked and Gerard and Frank chuckled softly, nodding. Bob's mother said her goodbyes and left her son in the pair's capable hands.

Nine months passed and Frank awoke with a gasp and a smile. He turned to his husband's side of the bed and saw that he was still soundly sleeping, his black hair splayed out on his pillow. Frank smiled and shook the man's shoulder.
"Gerard! Wake up! Today's the day!" Frank squealed and Gerard peaked his eyes open. He smirked and kissed Frank tiredly.
"Frank, it's seven in the morning--"
"And the center opens at eight! Come on Gerard! I want my baby!" Frank screamed and Gerard chuckled, sighing and sitting up slowly.
"Alright, alright, let's get dressed and have breakfast." Gerard said and Frank squealed, jumping up and down and running into their closet to find clothing.
The two had searched for a way to adopt the perfect child. It had taken months to be checked out and accepted as suitable parents for a child, but finally when they were accepted, they had to decide what age they wanted to adopt.
Finally, after a long search, the two found a young girl who was looking to give her baby up for adoption when it was born. Frank and Gerard had found her through the agency when she was eight months. She had given birth and called them to let them know that the baby would be available for adoption the next day.
Frank was so excited he could have jumped in the air for hours and screamed as he ran around the house.
They had picked out a name for their baby, whom they found out was a girl, and were so close to finally having her. They'd set up a baby room in one of their guest rooms and cleaned the house, making sure to baby-proof all the cabinets and doors and everything else a baby could get to.
Once the two were ready, they hopped into their car to drive down to the adoption agency to pick up their daughter.
Once they finally saw her, waiting for them, Frank practically turned into putty. He smiled brightly as he was handed their daughter and cooed to her as he held her tightly to his chest.
"Isabel. Isabel Dana Iero-Way." Frank whispered and Gerard smiled as he leaned over Frank's shoulder to look at their daughter. She gurgled and whined as she wiggled about in her blanket, and each sound she made, was only more beautiful than the last to Frank, who fell in love with her at first sight.

"See? Here you two are when we brought Tyler home." Frank said to his teenage children. They gawked at the pictures of their parents with them as children.
"No way! That's not me." Tyler, their son, said as he stared at a picture of a very unhappy nine-month-old in a pink, puffy dress and excessive make up. Frank giggled as he looked at the picture as well. He looked over his two children. Isabel was seventeen and Tyler was fifteen, and they both looked so similar they could have been actual siblings. They both had black hair, Isabel's having just been cut into a bob, making it shorter than Tyler's shaggy cut hair. Isabel had green eyes, like Frank's, and Tyler had caramel eyes, like Gerard's. They seemed so like their parents, sometimes it was hard for even them to believe their children were adopted.
"Actually, that would be the handiwork of your sister." Frank said, looking back at the picture. Isabel giggled and Tyler blushed a little. Frank smirked, glancing around the attic that held so many more memories than before Isabel and Tyler.
He smiled as he saw the photobook he'd been looking at the day he and Gerard decided to adopt.
Isabel and Tyler continued to look through the book, giggling and smiling at the warm memories it brought them. They had wondered why their Dad had taken them into the attic so suddenly. He said that it was something he'd remembered after talking with Gerard. They had simply agreed and were awestruck at all the memories held in the huge room.
Frank smiled as he saw his children looking through their pasts.
Soon Gerard joined them and chuckled to himself when he found his family in the attic, looking through photobooks...just like Frank had been...searching through memories hidden for years, only to be resurfaced and bring with them warm feelings of family and love.
